Maj: Colonizing mars with current technology would be very very difficult, but not impossible. Having a sustainable colony, however, would be very difficult - a nice start might be to look at putting a sustaining station in a Earth-Sun Lagrange point. But yes, I too dream of the days of asteroid mining, expansion to other planets and zero-g manufacturing.

I wish... we cut a whole bunch of funding last year I'm afraid. But somehow we can still afford to be in Iraq and Afghanistan...
