South Carolina -again!

Postby Majik » Wed Sep 23, 2009 11:44 am

I swear there is something in the water in SC.
I just saw a vid of the mayor of a sc town mocking the reporter interviewing her.
He behavior ( plus the bill she signed into law) is outrageous.
She signed into law a bill making it illegal for the local police to chase down criminals.
comcast.net has a video on its home page, and they say the sourse was here:
http://www.wspa.com , but I couldnt find it.
If the citizens have any brians at all they should be removing her from office.
Of course, since she is black and a woman, it wont happen.

SC mayor defends no-chase policy for police
(AP) – 1 day ago

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The mayor of a small South Carolina town says she banned her police officers from chasing suspects on foot after an officer was hurt running after a man.

Wellford Mayor Sallie Peake said Monday she issued the order in August after the city had to pay for an officer who missed work after chasing a "guy who had a piece of crack on him." She said a drug possession charge was not worth the cost to taxpayers. But her written order said she did "not want anyone chasing any suspects whatsoever."

The decision came after two town-issued cars were totaled within a month, although her order applies only to foot chases.

When a local TV reporter asked about the policy, Peake would not answer and clapped her hands in mock praise that the reporter had found a story.

Majik, how do you find these video?! I am astounded to see that our nation elects these types of officals into office. I mean, no sense of logic, no patience, nothing! Wow!

All I can say about these SC issues is that...a bad day at the beach is still a day at the beach. As for these local politicians...I guess I am really glad I work for the fed... :UhhRoll:

I know you said it was an hour or so away from where you are, but if we do make it, it wouild be awesome to do a few shots with you! ( I don't do beer, sorry!)

Doh...I do remember that Maj. I'm sorry I didn't respond. My wife and I would love to meet with you guys. PM me with a date and we'll work out the logistics. We do have a Nashville trip coming up on the Columbus day weekend and we have Rocky Horror tickets for the 30th but other than that I think we're free...

Damn straight! The tickets we have are for the Charleston Ballet's version. It's interactive and we have front row. Should be pretty hot. Now where did I leave my fishnets and red lipstick???
